Graskop Gorge chooses ‘green’ sanitiser
Graskop Gorge Lift Co, as the custodian of an ecologically
important environment, chose to use an earth-friendly sanitiser instead of one
filled with potentially harmful chemicals, when it reopened to the public
following the strict Coronavirus lockdown.
“We are committed to minimising our environmental
footprint. From the outset, it was our mission to make it possible for people
to enjoy the majesty of the Drakensberg escarpment just outside of Graskop, without
heavily impacting the species-rich grasslands and forest,” says GM Quintin
Pretorius.
“Graskop Gorge Lift Co was one of the first clients of Paarl-based
Plant Inc, which created Dermural Sanitiser Original, a plant-based sanitiser that
is 100% safe and effective,” he says.
“We decided on the organic sanitiser route to save the
hands of our employees because frequent use of chlorine and alcohol-based
products is very hard on the human skin; and to prevent harmful chemicals from
impacting our environment.
“Our ethos is conservation in all its forms and we had to
consider our forest along with our staff and customers when choosing a
sanitiser,” he says.
